A funded Australian Apprentice (AA) is eligible for certain concessions or exemptions under specific circumstances.
Note: However, unfunded and fee-for-service AAs are not eligible to claim a fee concession reimbursement from the ACT Government.
Concession Categories:
A funded AA is eligible for a fee concession if, at the commencement of training they:
- Hold a current health care card or pension card or
- Can prove a genuine hardship.
Where the AA is under 18 years of age this rule will apply if the parent/guardian holds one of the above cards.
The AA must make this known to ACCM College for this concession to be granted by applying for a Concession using the below process.
To request consideration / application of a concession fee:
1. If the AA holds a current health care card or pension card (or you are under 18 and a parent/guardian holds one AND they will be required by their employer to pay for the mandatory enrolment fee:
Notify ACCM College of your Concession details at the time of enrolment by sending a message to contact@accm.edu.au
Be sure to include:
- Your Full Name
- Name of Employer
- Qualification
- Concession Information
Our Admin team will reach out to you with information on how to properly submit your concession details.
No enrolment fees will be required while this process is completed and we will help you every step of the way.
2. If the AA is applying for a concession based on a genuine financial hardship, please download the application form here
Send your completed form to contact@accm.edu.au and it will be reviewed as a matter of urgency.
No enrolment fees will be required while this application is being reviewed.
Exemption Categories:
A tuition fee will not be charged by ACCM College to an Australian Apprentice (AA) where:
- The AA leaves one employer and recommences within 12 months with another employer, in the same qualification and with the same Training Provider (ACCM).
- The AA is required to go to a different Training Provider because of a change of RTO process
To request consideration / application of a fee Exemption:
In normal practice ACCM should be made aware of the particular situation as part of the normal employer communication/onboarding process and in coordination with the applicable Apprenticeship Connect Australia Provider.
However, to be sure consideration is given, the Employer or AA should also make this known to ACCM College by sending a message to contact@accm.edu.au
Be sure to include:
- Australian Apprentice's Full Name
- Name of Employer and Contact Details
- Qualification to be enrolled
- Specifics of Exemption request based on the above.
