Sharelle Avison - Demonstrating Dedication and Commitment
Hunter Regional Training Awards
Sharelle Avison is on her way to the Hunter Regional Training Awards, where she will be hoping to take home the Trainee of the Year Award.
Sharelle was nominated for the awards after recently completing her Certificate III in Financial Services traineeship with her employer, The Mutual.
Sharelle was “in complete shock” when she first found out that she had made it to the finals of the Hunter Regional Training Awards. When her branch manager called her to tell her the good news she was “rather lost for words”.
Sharelle said “Once the shock wore off I couldn’t wait to tell my family, especially my Mum and my 4 children. It was so lovely to have them share this experience with me. I am also so grateful for my wonderful employer, The Mutual Building Society, for nominating me, and to The Australian College for all their support and encouragement; I couldn’t have come this far without them”.
Sharelle had some kind and encouraging words for her fellow nominees, “Knowing the high level of nominations that the Training Award committee had received, it came as a complete surprise to be recognised at this level. So I would love to take this opportunity to congratulate all my fellow nominees on their success and wish them all well with their chosen vocations”.
Giving her feedback on the College and the course, Sharelle said “I had a wonderful time studying with ACCM, the course was interesting and relevant and I found the College staff to be professional and friendly. Help was only ever a phone call away.
I found the flexible online delivery of my course worked perfectly with my traineeship and the units of study flowed well with my on the job training. The work load was very manageable and allowed for real personal and professional development”.
Sharelle’s Student Adviser, Larraine, had no hesitation in suggesting Sharelle be considered for the awards. When asked why, Larraine said “Sharelle’s submissions to the College for marking were always of a high calibre, often exceeding the required standard. Sharelle’s work was practical, thoughtful and gave a clear understanding of her experience and knowledge. Sharelle’s approach to her studies, while working in a very supportive environment with her employer, The Mutual, clearly demonstrates her dedication and commitment”.
The Mutual’s Human Resources Manager, Marina, spoke of Sharelle’s success… “We are all very proud of Sharelle’s achievement. Sharelle is a dedicated team member who always gives 100% to her work and to her studies. Sharelle is committed to providing our members with a great member service experience and we believe that Sharelle has a great future with The Mutual and in the career path she has now taken.”
From everyone here at ACCM, we wish Sharelle the best of luck at the Hunter Regional Training Awards.
