ACCM College External Validation

It’s June so that must mean it is time for an External Validation session with our fellow RTOs of Illawarra’s very own SCAN Network.

Sharon Rich brought four Trainers and Assessors (our biggest group yet) to today’s meeting.

Today, we brought our Maintain Medical Records subject, which is an important milestone in the BSB30120 Certificate III in Business (Medical) qualification.

Our mission for continuous improvement

This important subject had been reviewed by our internal team as part of our ongoing continuous improvement process. We get lots of feedback from a variety of channels based on student and client feedback, and our industry engagement/consultation partners. Now we wanted to see how external VET professionals viewed our materials.

The outcome of this group validation, by practitioners who come with their own experience and expertise, found it to be what we thought it was: current, relevant and practical in it’s approach to such a major element of the Medical Administration industry. As always, hearing fresh views and different ideas and approaches helps ACCM College make sure we are doing right by our Trainees and learners.

Our own team also got a chance to see how other RTOs create and design their assessments. As part of reviewing their materials, we were not only able to offer advice, but consider how we can shape our future curriculum design practices.

What is SCAN?

For anyone who doesn’t know what SCAN is, we are the South Coast Assessors Network. A group of VET professionals who work together to share knowledge, promote the VET sector and help each other ensure RTOs in the Illawarra exceed the requirements of ASQA.

This group of VET experts is led by the amazing Sarah Medezi (our good friend at Early Childhood Development and Professional Development or ECTARC).
