  • Warehouse Operations

    This subject provides an overview of warehouse operations and documentation and includes identifying products, understanding the sections within a warehouse and specific storage areas. It develops skills in examining quality, reporting on products, as well as using systems to identify and locate products and following security procedures

  • Safety and Manual Handling

    Safety is paramount in every industry, especially in Warehousing and Logistics. This Subject provides the skills and knowledge required to work in a healthy and safe manner. You will learn to recognise hazards, the importance of safety signs and how to raise safety issues within a warehouse or logistics workplace. This is a great entry level Subject to help you respond to emergency incidents and use manual handling techniques safely.

  • Work Effectively in Logistics

    This subject addresses the foundation skills and knowledge required to work effectively in a logistics, store or warehouse environment. This includes a focus on using quality methods designed to ensure customer satisfaction for internal and external stakeholders across chain management. Awareness of key job responsibilities in warehousing and logistics and being able to organise personal work priorities are essential job skills. A number of practical workplace activities are undertaken and used as assessment evidence to ensure the new employee gets started in the right way.

  • Chain of Responsibility Obligations

    Any person who has some role in the transport and storage of goods (called the Supply Chain) is responsible for safety. This requires having the skills to identify and manage fatigue; determine and calculate load mass; and ensure compliance with vehicle and storage limits. This is a key Subject to ensure you are aware of your legal obligations and practical ways to meet them.

  • Despatch Operations

    The prompt despatch of orders is a key requirement in any warehouse. This subject looks at how to consolidate manifest documents and organise despatch operations. The accurate completion of key despatch documentation is also addressed.

  • Organise Receival Operations

    Receival operations involves planning and organising receival operations, storing received stock and completing all required documentation and records. Receiving of goods to replenish stock requires awareness of: product storage requirements; what to look for when checking and inspecting goods on arrival; and completing receival documentation. This subject also looks at unloading, unpacking and storing protocols.

  • Service Skills in Supply Chain Operations

    Customer Service is a key function in all Supply Chain job roles. This Subject will deliver the skills needed to identify internal customers needs and deliver strong customer service. This includes practical service skills with emphasis on customers with special needs, working in a culturally diverse workplace and effective complaint handling skills.

  • Prepare Documents In Logistics

    This subject looks at the range of documents that have roles in a warehouse and logistics environment and the quality systems that apply. Documents include workplace documents, employment documents and delivery and despatch documents. Assessment is undertaken across the whole period of the course with examination of the different documents applicable to earlier subjects.

  • Baggage Handling (E)

    This subject looks at the business processes and procedures behind baggage handling such as moving baggage both manually and mechanically using a conveyor belt system. Work placement in a suitable environment is needed. In addition the skills to ensure security of goods and to identify and action security threats are addressed by this subject.

Course Duration

18 months is allowed as the standard part time enrolment term for the Certificate III in Warehousing Operations course.

Students who are able to commit more time to their course can finish earlier; while Traineeship terms may be longer.

Entry Requirements

for the Certificate III in Warehousing Operations

  • This Course Has Been Replaced - Transition Rules
    This qualification has been replaced by TLI30319 Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations.
    It is recommended that you enrol in that qualification unless there is a specific reason where we agree that this qualification is more suited to your circumstances.

    ACCM College is in the process of offering that qualification. If you wish to enrol immediately you can enrol in this qualification and we will transition you to the newer one as soon as we can and at no cost.
    The “transition date” for this qualification is 10 June 2021.
    This means that you must have been assessed as competent in all required units/subjects by this date.
    If you do not finish by this date your enrolment must be closed and a Statement of Attainment issued for any completed units.
    ACCM College does not have any discretion on this rule.

    Existing students in this qualification may have the option to transition to the newer qualification.

  • Required Current Work Situation
    A warehouse environment is needed to be able to undertake practical activities required in this course eg picking products; putaway; inventory stocktake, manual handling.
    It is not possible to undertake this course without access to a worksite that allows you to undertake these activities.
    As a minimum 70 hours of work must be undertaken.
    Ability to conduct practical on-the-job assessments in a safe environment under appropriate workplace supervision
  • Reading and Writing Skills
    The Certificate III in Warehousing Operations is an on-line correspondence course, so you need to have basic English reading and writing skills, or higher. As a guide - you should have completed Year 10 schooling, or have proven workplace written communication skills.
  • Spoken English Skills
    To ensure successful completion of this course you must have sufficient English speaking skills to be able to communicate with your Student Adviser over the phone.
  • Experience and Qualification Requirements
    It is recommended that you have either 6 months experience in a warehouse role or have completed a relevant certificate II qualification before starting this certificate III level qualification.
  • Numeracy Skills
    Numeracy skills are required at an average level eg completion of Year 10 maths and the ability to use a calculator.
  • Computer, Internet and Technology You Need

    This course is offered online. As such you must have:

    • Access to a Desktop Computer or Laptop
    • a stable internet connection and a plan that allows reasonable data usage
    • an uptodate Internet browsereg Internet Explorer 8+, Chrome or Firefox
    • Some components can be done on a smart phone
