VET FEE-HELP Refunds Policy

  • Application of VET FEE-HELP Refund Policy

    1. This policy applies to all students who are entitled to VET FEE-HELP assistance, even if they choose not to access it.

    2. To be entitled to VET FEE-HELP assistance a person must be an Australian citizen or the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa who will be resident in Australia for the duration of their VET units of study.

  • Refunds to VET FEE-HELP Eligible Students

    3. The College will repay to a student who is, or would be, entitled to VET FEE-HELP assistance any VET tuition fees that he or she may have paid for a VET Unit of study if the student withdraws from that unit on or before the relevant census date.

    4. This does not apply where VET tuition assurance arrangements have been activated and the student has elected the VET course assurance option for that unit.

    5. Where a student withdraws from a VET unit of study after the relevant census date, any refund of VET tuition fees is at the discretion of the College.

  • Important Rules about Withdrawing from VET FEE-HELP Without Penalty

VET FEE-HELP students can withdraw any time before their census date without a penalty.

For each semester a "census date" is set which is 20% into the scheduled time frame for that semester.

If students do NOT formally withdraw from the semester on or before the census date, they will incur a debt with the Government for the VET FEE-HELP loan amount. See the VET FEE-HELP Refund Policy for details.

Students who notify the College of their intent to withdraw from their course prior to the census date will be sent written confirmation confirming their request.
