Smart and Skilled Expanded for ALL Traineeships in ALL Regions

The NSW Minister for Skills Hon. John Barilaro has announced the expansion of available training for traineeships in all NSW regions under Smart and Skilled*.

This announcement means that The Australian College of Commerce and Management will have increased capacity to meet industry demand for funded training positions for traineeships listed in the NSW Skills List.

This is a welcome change that means ALL College traineeship programs (as per the NSW Skills List) can be accessed by employers in ALL regions for their new worker trainees across NSW.

For existing College clients this also means that unfunded trainees from 1 January can be retrospectively registered under Smart and Skilled.

This step is a significant step in the right direction to minimise the paperwork obstacles and inconsistencies for employers seeking to access nationally recognised training from a national provider like Australian College of Commerce and Management.

In conjunction with the launch of the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network, this sends positive signs to the community about the importance of training our young people, and encourages employers to access the significant benefits of apprenticeship and traineeship funding.

* This training is subsidised by the NSW Government.
